What is Motherhood Aesthetics (Torsoplasty)?

Torsoplasty or maternity aesthetics can be defined as a surgery in which several different procedures are applied simultaneously to reshape the region from the abdomen to the thighs. It may include a tummy tuck, thigh lift, butt lift, liposuction, or any combination of these procedures. Thanks to torsoplasty, the existing tissue can be corrected and removed. Thus, it is aimed to give the person's body the best possible appearance.

Torsoplasty is a highly effective procedure for people who have recently experienced significant weight loss. After weight loss, skin that was previously stretched to accommodate excess fat deposits takes on a loose appearance. Fat pockets that do not disappear create irregular bulges. Thanks to the torsoplasty procedure, all these problems can be eliminated.

The torsoplasty process begins with the patient's consultation. The surgeon learns the patient's medical history and performs an evaluation, including a full physical examination. The desired result as a result of the surgery is evaluated. In the light of all this information, the surgeon determines which procedures will enable the patient to reach the most suitable body shape.

For some patients, only a tummy tuck and thigh lift operation is sufficient, while for some patients, butt lift and liposuction may be necessary. Since each patient's body structure and expectations are different, patient-specific planning should be done in order to ensure the correct proportions and balance with the surgeries.

Who Is Maternity Aesthetics Suitable For?

Maternity aesthetics aims to restore the shape and appearance of the woman's body after giving birth to a child. Maternity aesthetics is a personalized surgery. Maternity aesthetics can be applied to people who are;

Completed the recovery period after birth and at least 6 months have passed since birth,
Completed the breastfeeding process and at least 3 months have passed,
Preferably non-smoker, and if he is a smoker, he interrupts this habit at least 3 weeks before the operation,
Having realistic expectations about aesthetic operations,
Those who are uncomfortable with postpartum physical changes and want to have a better body form,
and who are close to their ideal weight.
For maternity aesthetics, it is required that at least 3 months have passed since the end of the breastfeeding process. The reason for this is that the body, especially the breast size and hormone levels, will return to their natural state during this time. Again, women who are overweight should wait until they reach a maximum of 25 kilograms from their ideal weight while planning the surgery.

What Procedures Are Performed for Maternity Aesthetics?

Postpartum Breast Aesthetics

Postpartum breast aesthetics is one of the most preferred procedures. Breast tissue enlarges due to the large amount of estrogen produced by the mother's body during pregnancy. This process prepares mothers' breasts for breastfeeding and allows them to breastfeed their babies.

With the end of the breastfeeding process, the tissues inside the breast shrink, the skin surrounding the breast causes the breast to appear empty or deflated, thus tending to sag. Women's bodies usually accumulate fat in the breasts after breastfeeding, so some breasts may return to their pre-pregnancy size.

However, this is a process that can take months. however, many women who complete the breastfeeding process lose volume and their breasts become smaller than their pre-pregnancy size. Mothers who have such problems may prefer breast augmentation and breast lift aesthetics.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery procedure performed to increase breast size and improve its shape. In this way, it is aimed to create a breast profile that is more symmetrical, proportional to the patient's body and aesthetically pleasing. Breast augmentation is also one of the most effective methods of correcting visible breast asymmetry.

Breast Lift

It is possible to see sagging and loss of volume in the breasts due to skin stretching during and after pregnancy. The most effective method for eliminating the problem of breast sagging is breast lift operation. This procedure is a procedure that tightens the surrounding tissue while removing excess skin that has lost its elasticity.

Postpartum Abdominoplasty

Carrying a baby for nine months is one of the most wonderful experiences in life, but it causes changes in the female body that can cause aesthetic concerns. Even after a sufficient period of time spent with proper nutrition and exercise, the saggy skin in the lower abdomen may not be returned to its natural tightness. The most effective method for this type of skin excess is tummy tuck aesthetics.

Postpartum Genital Aesthetics

Many women choose to resort to various vaginal cosmetic procedures to remove damage and sagging caused by pregnancy and childbirth. After a normal delivery, the vagina may not return to its original state. This reduces the stimulation of the vaginal walls during sexual intercourse. However, having a cesarean section does not mean that this situation will definitely not happen.

Because the hormones secreted during pregnancy change the form of the muscles. As pregnancy progresses, the pressure of the uterus on the vagina increases. Ligaments and muscles cause vaginal and uterine prolapse of varying severity, that is, sagging. Procedures performed within the scope of vaginal aesthetics are applications that enable women to solve many different problems and have a better sexual life.

Labiaplasty

The most commonly applied aesthetic genital plastic surgery is the operation in which the length of the labia minora, that is, the small lips in the vagina, is reduced. It is preferred to relieve symptoms caused by stretching and sagging on the lips. Labiaplasty can be done to reduce the small lips, not to sag under the big lips, to eliminate the asymmetry between the lips or to reduce the length of both lips.

The most common type of labiaplasty, which can be performed under local or general anesthesia, is the trim procedure, in which excess tissue is removed and sutured directly. In another popular procedure, the wedge procedure, a slice-shaped piece of tissue is removed and care is taken to preserve the appearance of a natural border. At the same time, the extra folds in the clitoris can be reduced.

Vaginoplasty

It is a surgical procedure applied to tighten the vagina. There is also a non-invasive method in which the tissues are heated with radiofrequency waves or laser. Patients with advanced loosening cannot get results from non-invasive methods. Therefore, the surgical procedure becomes inevitable.

Vaginal laxity due to stretching of tissues and separation of muscles after delivery can be removed by vaginoplasty. It can also contribute to sexual dysfunction. The muscles separated by vaginoplasty surgery are brought together, the extra mucous skin on the back of the vagina is removed. Although vaginoplasty is usually performed under general anesthesia, it is an operation that can also be performed under local anesthesia.

Before the application, the amount of tightening to be done and the excess skin to be removed from the vagina are determined. Tissues are tightened with strong sutures under the skin. The mucosa is then closed by suturing the skin. If there is a skin that protrudes outward, this is also reduced and a more aesthetic result is obtained.

Postpartum Liposuction

Liposuction provides slimming and reshaping of certain parts of the body to remove excess fat deposits and improve body contours and harmony. Liposuction can be applied while the patient is under local or general anesthesia. Fats are removed with cannulas placed through small incisions and sucked from the body by vacuum or syringe. This method, which removes stubborn fat deposits, can also be applied in combination with fat injection.

Cesarean Section Correction

In some women who have had a cesarean section, the suture scar may be indistinct, while in some women it may have a raised and dark appearance. In some cases, appearances such as pitting at the suture line may be encountered.

In order to eliminate such problems, scar revision procedures can be applied. With the scar revision, that is, the scar correction procedure performed under local anesthesia, the dimpled skin scar and the slightly sagging skin can be removed and corrected.

The cesarean scar is concave and the skin of the abdomen hangs over this scar,
The cesarean section scar is evident from tight clothes and swimsuits, and the tight clothing enters the concave cesarean section scar,
The cesarean scar is red, swollen or painful,
Cesarean section can be performed in cases where there is keloid in the suture area.
The cesarean section scar is a trace that extends horizontally over the genital area, and if there is dimpling, the cesarean section scar is removed together with the pit area. Then it is sewn again. If the skin on the scar on the abdomen falls over the pit, then the sagging skin is also removed. If there is looseness in the abdomen below the belly button, simultaneous mini tummy tuck operation may be preferred.
